The Cristo Pobre Chapel is a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture in the heart of Jauja. Built between 1920 and 1922, this magnificent chapel was inspired by Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and represents a remarkable achievement in early 20th-century Peruvian architecture.

The chapel features twin towers crowned with sculptures of the twelve apostles and was the first concrete and iron structure built in Peru's central highlands. Its soaring vaulted ceilings, pointed arches, and beautiful stained glass windows create a serene and inspiring space for worship and contemplation.
